Bio

Denishia Tatum is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who has a strong passion for children and enjoys providing care when they are sick or well. She originally attended Tuskegee University, in Tuskegee, Alabama where she earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing, graduating in the top 5% of her class. While working at Children's Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham, Denishia decided to advance her knowledge of direct patient care and eventually pursued her Masters of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Nursing Leadership. Denishia continued to seek advanced training in order to bring the best care to her patients and earned a Post-Masters Certificate in Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. She holds a national certification with the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB).

Denishia has worked primarily in private practice pediatric settings, and has experience instructing pediatrics in academia. She anticipates being involved in the entire continuum of care with her patients.

Denishia is an active member of the United Advance Practice Registered Nurses of Georgia (UAPRN) and the Society of Pediatric Cardiovascular Nurses (SPCN).

In her free time, Denishia and her daughter Laila enjoy reading and weekend getaways to any place with sun and sand. Her motto: "All kids deserve to feel loved and leave with a hug!"
